ER&M helps final year students and recently qualified teachers find suitable teaching posts in the UK and further afield. The team can provide help and support throughout the different stages from developing a professional CV, to the interview process, to support when settling into the school and local area.
Schools and Local Education Authorities advertise on the ER&M website because they are particularly keen to recruit high quality teachers. Most Schools offer generous salaries and relocation allowances.
ER&M is NOT a recruitment agency. You will not be asked to pay any fees and you will always be offered a full time, permanent contract with the employing school.
We have designed the ER&M website to provide a recruitment service for schools and Local Education Authorities wishing to recruit teachers from Ireland, and to enable final year Initial Teacher Training students, NQTs and experienced teachers to access information about career opportunities in England and Scotland.
LEAs and schools can reserve a dedicated page on the ER&M website for a full year for less than the cost of an advertisement in the Times Educational Supplement.
If you would like to advertise on the web site, or if you require further information on the services we provide, please contact us using the below information or form.
The ER&M website has become the 1st point of contact for St. Mary's University College students seeking teaching posts in England and Scotland. It has proved to be an invaluable resource and I highly recommend it to all final year students and NQTs.
I was Kent County Council’s Teacher Recruitment & Retention Manager until my recent retirement and have been working with ER&M since 2006. Eddie and his team at ER&M greatly assisted the recruitment of Irish teachers, mainly at Newly Qualified level, into our schools. Throughout my time at KCC I found the ER&M team to be enthusiastic, innovative and supportive and together we made a significant contribution to standards of teaching and learning in Kent. I have no hesitation in recommending ER&M
As a result of your efforts and our advertisement on the ER&M website we recruited eleven experienced and newly qualified teachers from: Queen's University, University College Cork, the University of Ulster, St Mary's University College and Stranmillis University College. For the first time in many years, we now have a full complement of appropriately qualified specialists including Science and Mathematics.
I have found St. Teresa’s to be a warm and inviting school that supports children and their needs in a secure and friendly environment. The ethos of the school is lived out by the school motto ‘Love proves itself by deeds’ by St. Therese of Lisieux the Patron Saint of the School and Parish Church, which are closely linked. The Staff are very supportive and are encouraged to challenge children’s learning through high quality teaching. These qualities have been an asset to me as an overseas teacher in a foreign country and I have grown through my teaching experience at St. Teresa’s School.
I have been working at Littlehampton Academy for the past year, and I can honestly say I have never worked with nicer people. Everyone has been extremely warm, supportive and helpful throughout the year, and no matter what you need, there is someone always around offering you help and making you feel at home. TLA is also really convenient if you plan on travelling home to Ireland at the weekends, with Gatwick on the direct Littlehampton-London Victoria train line. Aer Lingus and Ryanair offer many flights direct to Dublin, Cork, Belfast and Shannon every day. If you get the opportunity to work here, you will be rewarded with an amazing learning journey, both from staff and students.
